In IHIC2009, Showme Your CDA! addressed to a larger
extend tools and methodology as well as sustainable long term use of HL7 CDA.
All the
presented HL7 CDA case studies were rated by the participants from 1 (best) – 5 (Worst) on the following five
criteria:

Vision – is this part of a project strategy with
future enhancements (potential growth)?
·
Clarity – How well has this CDA study been presented?
·
Maturity – how well has technical/programming aspect
been dealt with?
·
Novelty - does it contain new ideas, e.g. new
workflows, input for CDA release 3, etc.
·
Interoperability - How to you rate the
interoperability of this CDA case study?
·
Reference case - Would you recommend this CDA
implementation project to others?
The winners were selected based on the average
evaluation score sheets provided by the participants of the Showme your CDA!
session in IHIC2009.
There turned out to be quite a competition for the
first places.
The first place was shared between:

R. Geimer (“Show me your CDA:
Multi-stage Validation”) from Alschuler Associates and HL7 (US), who presented
a methodology for Multi-stage validation of
CDA documents.
·
A. Mense & S. Sabutsch (“An implementation guide for CDA laboratory Reports in the Austrian
Electronic Health Record” ) from HL7 Austria.
This case
study received the Best score for maturity and vision.
The second
place went to Diego Kaminker and Fernando Campos (“Structured Report Editor for the HIBA Multimedia EHR”) from HL7
Argentina
This case study received the Best score for novelty
and Reference Case.
The third place went to B. Marquard (“CDA Development Using Templates”) from
Alschuler Associates and HL7 (US)
This case study received the Best score for
Interoperability, Clarity and Reference Case.
